We at Being Wellness and Healing endorse the freedom of information and education for the purpose of the development of human potential.  Each of these recommended resources are widely available to the public, and, while we do not necessarily endorse every word of text in their research, we do acknowledge the propriety and priority of the evolution of our understanding of this field of research.  ...In other words, as in all scientific research, this is an evolving field and the accumilation of scientific data that is rightfully open to scrutiny for the purpose of the evolution of the interpretation of the conclusions.

The first recommended reading is a study published by Nova Scientific Publishers in 2014, conducted by Dr. Laura Stuve PhD, Dr. Janet Galipo MA DOM, Dr. Honghu Liu PhD, Dr. Jie Shen PhD and Jill Gianettoni.  The study investigated whether people with chronic pain conditions showed improvements in pain, emotional factors, and overall health measures following 8 weekly distance BodyTalk treatments using the on-line Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS). The study evaluated 36 subjects, randomized into a treatment (N=19)
and a control group (N=17) using a single-blinded design in Phase I, followed by a crossover Phase II where the control subjects were treated.

Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis
Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance
by Dr. James Oschman, PhD

"In both of these works by Dr. Oschman, he explores the exciting opportunity available to the medical community, and all human being alike, of the discovery of what energy healing is, and what it's potential profound discoveries might be able do to shape our future world.  The discoveries being accomplished by the faculty of professional energy medicine practitioners, and other complementary modalities, enlist a degree of serious study and warrant further investigation, as Dr. Oschman describes in his two books in detail, where the current status of their discoveries are to this point.  A fascinating read for those deeply looking into the science of energy medicine."

Power vs Force

by Sir Dr. David Hawkins, MD, PhD

"Dr. Hawkins is probably the most accredited and qualified of a psychiatrist, that it is possible that for a psychiatrist to be.  His groundbreaking six-book Power vs Force series is an intellectual's delight on self-awareness and Life itself. His work delves into the deeper aspects of human psyche, consciousness and behaviour. Hawkins findings pioneer a foundation of discovery and create a frame of reference that explore the connection between kinesiology and consciousness, a framework that several other independent peer-reviewed faculties now colleague with. Truly work that was and is still ahead of its time. Anything you will ever want or need to know about how and why muscle-testing works on everything from finding a new loved one to join your family, to selecting the right foods for your diet, is all found in this book series. Highest possible recommendation for everyone."

The Science Delusion (Science Set Free)
by Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, PhD

"Dr. Sheldrake has written over a dozen books on his field of research on morphogenetic fields, psychic phenomena and quantum entanglement.  In his most recent work, The Science Delusion, Sheldrake questions conservation of energy; he calls it a "standard scientific dogma", says that perpetual motion devices and inedia should be investigated as possible phenomena, and has stated that "the evidence for energy conservation in living organisms is weak".  He argues in favour of alternative medicine and psychic phenomena, saying that their recognition as being legitimate is impeded by a "scientific priesthood" with an "authoritarian mentality".  Citing his earlier "psychic staring effect" experiments and other reasons, he stated that minds are not confined to brains and remarks that "liberating minds from confinement in heads is like being released from prison".  He suggests that DNA is insufficient to explain inheritance, and that inheritance of form and behaviour is mediated through morphic resonance.  He also promotes morphic resonance in broader fashion as an explanation for other phenomena such as memory."

The link for Dr. Sheldrake links to a short 20-minute TED talk on the Science Delusion, where Dr. Sheldrake explores 10 of the given "constant laws" of the Universe widely accepted by science that perhaps should be looked at a little closer, as potentially not actually as constants:

Dr. Sheldrake's website even has an App that you can download to practice your psychic skills:

The Reality of ESP: A Physicist's Proof of
Psychic Abilities

by Dr. Russell Targ, PhD

"Dr. Targ became primarily well known for his research into remote viewing and psychic phenomena for the US Military during the 1970's, 80's and 90's and remains, to this day, as one of the world leaders in psychic research.  While a number of different methodologies and projects have been tried by Dr. Targ, because of the subjective nature of the work, he has encountered some resistance in his acceptance by the mainstream scientific community, like many others of his faculty.  As we begin to establish the basis of reference for the field of such study, Dr. Targ remains a vocal advocate of the existence of remote viewing work, which makes his pioneering research worth further investigation.  His latest work, The Reality of ESP: A Physicists Proof of Psychic Abilities explains how many physicists have now migrated over and taken control pf the field of science previously known as: parapsychology.  Even though the science of how this work can be replicated on a consist basis, there is, never the less, a larger and larger growing body of evidence that support Dr. Targ's work over the years."

The Tao of Physics, 5th Edition (2010)

by Dr. Fritjof Capra, PhD

"Dr. Capra is another great resource that has been writing about the merger between physics and Eastern mysticism since the 1970's.  He has written 16 books on his theories and is on the faculty of Schumacher College, as well as being the founding director of the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkley, California."

The following link is to an old interview from the 1980's with Dr. Capra on the Tao of Physics, which was first published in 1975:

...Because the Tao of Physics video link is an outdated one, this following link is to a 40-minute lecture by Dr. Capra from 2014, on the inter-related ecosystem of how nature sustains life and how our understanding of web of life is continuing to evolve:

The Quantum Doctor: A Physicists Guide to Health and Healing
by Dr. Amit Goswami, PhD

"Dr. Goswami is another Theoretical Quantum Physicist that is aware of the role of the conscious observer and he has authored some 18 books about his research.  Dr. Goswami is a retired full professor from the University of Oregon’s Department of Physics where he served from 1968 to 1997. He is a pioneer of the new paradigm of science called “science within consciousness,” an idea he explicated in his seminal book, The Self-Aware Universe, where he also solved the quantum measurement problem elucidating the famous observer effect.  Goswami continues to work well into his retirement to continue to demonstrate how science and spirituality could be integrated."

There are numerous video links on Dr. Goswami's work available on YouTube.  The following link is to a 25-minute interview with him about the importance of happiness from a physics point of view:

The Biology of Belief
by Dr. Bruce Lipton, PhD

"Dr. Lipton has been a mainstream advocate for epigenetics for many years and has taught at several universities on the topic. While his research continues to be largely independent at this time, Dr. Lipton presents the scientific evidence of his findings in this bestselling book that explains in detail the relationship between the environment and a number tester muscle cells. It is Dr. Lipton's belief that a perceived stress in an individual's environment affects the DNA in many ways, and, therefore, influences the way we think and the way we interact with our environment--which ultimately make us ourselves and who we think we are."

Dr. Lipton gives a very detailed 2.5 hours lecture in this video link below:

The 4th Phase of Water
by Dr. Gerald Pollack, PhD

"In this groundbreaking publishing of his work, Dr. Pollack examines water, a substance that has been largely taken for granted by Western science. Dr. Pollack notes that water does indeed have a known 4th state of being in addition to the known states water can be: a solid, liquid or gas ...now Dr Pollack has found it can also take a gelatinous form that has the molecular composition of H3O2, a state in which water can hold a negative electric charge. And when water can hold this negative charge, it means that it is capable of responding to stimulus and performing functions perhaps far more than we ever new possible before. Dr. Pollack feels that he also is just scratching the surface with his discoveries."

This link is to a fantastic 15-minute TED talk where Dr. Pollack lays out, in very simplistic and understandable terms, how water responds to light and can even hold a negative charge which can have profound benefits to our physical health:

Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation
by Dr. Ian Stevenson, PhD

"The late Dr. Stevenson worked out of the University of Virigina School of Medicine right up until his death in 2007, when he was 88 years old. He was the founder and director of the university's Division of Perceptual Studies, where he travelled the world for 40 years, investigating some 3,000 cases of inexplicable illnesses, phobias/philias, misplaced memories and physical traits that do not seem to be able to be explained from environmental response or genetic heredity of the individual. Dr. Stevenson believed that a 3rd influencing factor, a soul transferal process, transfers information from one body to the next, and he published some 16 books on the matter."

...Because Dr. Stevenson is now passed away, some of the video from his lectures are not of the best video quality, but his research continues to followed up on by his predecessors.  The first link is to a 30-minute lecture:

The next link is to a three-part video series on reincarnation from the 1990's, not the best in video or audio quality, but profound in information:

The Wheels of Life

The War on Consciousness

by Dr. Graham Hancock, PhD

While the greater body of Dr. Hancock's work is under debate, and has room for scrutiny and evolution, below is a link to a 20-minute TED talk by him about the psychedelic advantage of mind-expanding experiences with Ayahuasca, a very passionate and interesting lecture:

Being Wellness & Healing

Heal Yourself; Heal Your World

The practitioners available to you at Being Wellness and Healing will not and do not diagnose a client with an illness, nor will we claim to cure any illness:

Dr. Veltheim, The Science and Philosophy of BodyTalk, 1st edition (2013), page 34:

"When a patient's health problems are narrowed down to a simplistic label, such as a stomach ulcer or breast cancer, a great injustice is being done to the patient.  The limitations of a diagnostic database have omitted key elements that are crucial in addressing the patient's ailment in a truly holistic way.  A host of unique factors, contributing to and underpinning their symptom, is being ignored.

When health problems are thus diluted and given a generic label, the subsequent treatment model will be equally generic.  ...In essence, the diagnostic model ignores the uniqueness and complexity of their individual health issues and the way these have developed over time.

...This is why so many people label themselves "a cancer patient," "a diabetic," etc.  Patients are, essentially being taught to identify themselvs as their symptoms.  ...When a patient identifies with a symptom. this attitude can constitute, in and of itself, a health problem, and, ...more often than not, symptoms will recur or transmute to different areas of the body."

...Therefore the practitioners at Being Wellness and Healing seek to just observe your healing process and will not contribute to enabling a patient's paradigm of labeling itself with a victim consciousness that is in need of a diagnosis or curing.

Meaning, we are looking at the whole picture that makes a person who they are and how they perceive themselves, which has led them to the situation they find themselves involved in and we treat the patient as is, regardless of status of condition.

The Science of Getting Rich
Wallace Wattles

"This wellness classic was initially written in 1910 and remains a valuable resource to this day.  This simple guide to staying positive connects you to the realm of financial freedom by helping you understand the benefits of staying in the Creative paradigm, rather than becoming stuck in a  Competitive, fearful and paralyzing mindset.  Nobody wants to live in poverty, and the first step to getting out of the repetitive cycle of suffering is setting a goal and working towards it, evolving the vision with each step along the way.  ...Getting out of financial trouble takes time, just like it took time getting into the trouble in the first place.  ...But at least with this simple guide, we can start the journey to prosperity off the right way: by Creating what we want to see!"

Animal Speak
Ted Andrews

"Originally published in 1993, Animal Speak has become revised and reprinted several times over the years, as more and more data becomes available.  Easily one of the most detailed manuals ever written, Animal Speak gives you an entry-level idea of the predominant achetypal consciousness associated with an animal and what the symbolism of what an alignment/encounter with a given species might mean in relation to what's going on in your life.  The value of animals consciousness and contributions are undoubtedly an untapped resource in our society, as they are aware of far more than what we have given them credit for in the modern era.  If we can learn to listen, understand and interpret what great information and wisdom they have available for us to learn, who knows where the results will take us."

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying
Sogyal Rinpoche

"In this modern era classic, Rinpoche eloquently talks in detail about a heavy topic.  This easy to read publication was widely well received upon its initial release in 1992, as it was one of the first of such books to be made for an English audience.  To this day, this book is still being acknowledged by some faculties of professional Western healthcare as being taken into consideration as part of their observations when dealing with death and the dying process.  The Tibetans have studied this for centuries and are one of the world's foremost scholars in their field of research.  A landmark in communication and understanding between the Eastern and Western philosophies on medicine."

Tragedy and Hope
Dr. Carroll Quigley, PhD

This 1,348-page epic non-fiction work was first published in 1966, and it lays out, in full detail, the inside of the world's economic money and power structure; specifically the influence of British and American foreign policy during the 20th century that shaped the world we live in today.  Some of the details in this book has attracted the attention of "conspiracy theorists" because of the semi-secret nature of the Round Table groups that had discussions that accomplished a number of interests. If you wanted to learn modern history along with exploring the highest subcultures of intellectualism, economy and politics, we highly recommend you explore Dr. Quigley's work.

The Grand Chessboard
Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, PhD

"Many of the world's leading geopolitical thinkers have read this staple of modern political literature regarding the landmass of Eurasia as the center of global power, Brzezinski sets out to formulate a Eurasian geostrategy for the United States. In particular, he writes, it is imperative that no Eurasian challenger should emerge capable of dominating Eurasia and thus also of challenging America's global pre-eminence.  Much of his analysis is concerned with geostrategy in Central Asia, focusing on the exercise of power on the Eurasian landmass in a post-Soviet environment.  A fascinating read when seeking to understand some of the thinking of the world's political stage.  We at BW&H don't necessarily endorse some of Brzezinski's conclusions, we just feel it is important to know some of the line of thought of what our world's leaders today might be believing when setting their international foreign policies."
